Residence and work permits
It is employer’s obligation to make sure that the employee has the required permit in order to be eligible to reside and work in Finland.
Citizens of EU/ ETA countries do not need a residence permit for Finland. They can reside and work freely in Finland up to three months after which they must register their right of residence at the Finnish Immigration Service office. Citizens of Nordic countries are exceptions, and they can register at registry office. Citizens of other Non-EU citizen usually need a residence permit based on employment.
